Sparc buildd and howto

After restarting my i386 buildd some days ago, Héctor García Álvarez asked me where he could find a howto to setup a buildd. Unfortunately, I never found any clear doc about that.

Today, I have setup a new sparc buildd which is also rebuilding the whole archive, thus it will take something like... 2 or 3 months I think (UltraSparc II @ 360 MHz with 256 MB RAM).

But this time I clearly took notes on what I did, and there's now a mini-howto. I'm sure it's not really complete, but that should help you to have something working. As usual, do not hesitate to send me feedbacks.

Debian Xen howto up to date

I just upgraded my Xen installation at home this week-end, so I updated my Xen Debian howto. Now it is up to date, and it's here. It covers Xen installation for both Sarge and Etch.

I just updated my Xen 3 for Debian howto, because it was still talking about Xen 2.

Now it relies on official Debian packages.

Subversion fsfs migration

Today I discovered that a new storage backend is implemented in Subversion: fsfs.

This seems to be the ultimate solution against the problems I had with the repository I used with my friends at University: databases crashes and permissions problems.

I just migrated the repository, this is very simple:

netu lib/svn # svnadmin dump iup > iup.svn.dump
[...]
netu lib/svn # svnadmin create --fs-type fsfs iup-fsfs
netu lib/svn # svnadmin load iup-fsfs < iup.svn.dump
[...]
netu lib/svn # mv iup iup.old
netu lib/svn # mv iup-fsfs iup
netu lib/svn # chown -R acid.iup iup && chmod -R g+w iup

Done.

Pour ma part je vais m'atteler à le traduire dans la langue de ~~Britneyspeare~~ Shakespeare étant donné que cet article me parait très utile et manque cruellement à apt-build.
