It seems that this morning at 6:30 GMT+1, when syslogd was restarted on nasya (secondary server), nasya crashed. I just rebooted it and it is up now.

But netu (primary server) which logged everything on nasya via syslog over a VPN (vtun) is now quite down: syslog seems to be crashed/freezed. I am unable to log in anymore on netu.

Fortunately, I was already logged but I cannot become root. strace su stops here:

connect(3, {sa_family=AF_FILE, path="/dev/log"}, 16) = 0
send(3, "<37>Nov 27 09:41:57 su[27310]: ("..., 137, 0

That sucks. I am waiting for a reboot of netu. Every daemon and application that need syslog does not work anymore. Apache seems to be still up (as you can read this).

Why ?
